Pattern
I used the skills and knowledge I used from making Baby Blanket #1, plus some extra guidance on rotary cutting etc from Amy Smart’s Quilt Along posts, to make a simple no-quilt patchwork baby blanket for a friend.
Used 25 x 6.5″ squares in a 5×5 square patchwork pattern, so approx finishing dimensions are 30″x 30″(75cm x 75cm).
Materials
Patchwork: Various Heather Ross fabrics, mainly from her original Mendocino collection, from various Etsy suppliers.
Backing: Heather Ross’ Far Far Away 2 Sleeping Beauty in a cotton/linen blend from GJ’s Discount Fabrics.
Order from the chaos?
Loved using my new rotary cutter and 6.5″ template for making nice, even squares. Made everything come out much neater. The Sew Easy 6.5″ plastic template and Sew Easy Rotary Cutter and Birch Cutting Mat were all purchased from Lincraft.
Still not game enough to attempt quilting, so used the Big Star Baby Blanket trick of getting the two parts together.
